About us

Here are some of the most important things to know, what other people are saying about Phil Hyman Photography.

Becky and Alex-

Thanks again so much to you and Alex for taking the time and working so hard to get wonderful memories for our families to share for the rest of all of our lives. You have really captured both children’s personalities even when they didn’t want to show those personalities. Thank you also for helping Mom, Chuck and me with our order selection. It was overwhelming at first being presented with so many beautiful images, but you made the process so fun and positive we were sure we had made the correct decisions for each of us. You are both so talented and kind! We can’t wait to get the call when the portraits are ready. You have made my 25th anniversary gift truly special.

Thank You!!!!

Angela Patterson

Alex and Becky,

Thank you so much for the slide-show! Viewing it brings a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. I realize now why it took us so long to make a decision on my picture. All the pictures were great.

My portrait is BEAUTIFUL!!! I just love it! It has transformed my livingroom and now it looks and feels like a home. This will be an heirloom my family will treasure forever.

Thank you both so much for making this a wonderful experience for all of us. You have meet and exceeded all of my expectations.

Sincerely,

Melissa Carver

The pictures captured of our four children are our “fine art collection” from Phil Hyman Photography.  We love the expressions that were captured to remember each child’s different personalities for years to come!  All of the Hyman’s work together like a fine-tuned instrument to make each photo session a wonderful experience for each child.  Thank you!

Phil’s first photographic goal was recognized when he received his Master’s Degree in Photography from the Professional Photographers of America after only seven years of practice and study.  This accomplishment was only the beginning.

Phil’s commitment to better the art of photography everywhere quickly became evident.  Early on, he received the Prestige National Award, which is a mark of distinction granted to those who demonstrate a dedication to give back to the profession of photography.   In addition, Phil was honored with the Craftsman Degree from the Professional Photographers of America while teaching and writing—nationally and internationally—for audiences that included everyone from the small town photographer to companies as well known as Kodak.

Phil  authored a book entitled “Phil Hyman’s Secrets to Successful Photography,” and served as the President of the Professional Photographers of South Carolina.  Among his clientele, he counted not only numerous state government officials, but even former U.S. President Jimmy Carter!

Phil Hyman has now been an involved member of the Upstate South Carolina community for nearly thirty-three years.  Still a resident of the Greenville area, he continues to offer valuable contributions to photography everywhere, and perseveres in dreaming the dream he dared to pursue all those years ago.
